  • H-V envelope

    Hi there,

in the H-V test, question 1 (no ID#):

What does the H-V envelope define ?

The answer required to pass the question is: Operations within a define flight envelope of speed and height where a failure of the critical engine will not lead to a crash landing.

In my opinion, this question is not phrased properly and requires further detail to be answered correctly: which envelope is it referring to: the shaded envelope ("danger area") or the white envelope ("safe area") ?

To me, the H-V envelope defines the "danger area"; not the other way around. It is the envelope where the pilot does not want to be. Therefore the correct answer should be: Operations outside a defined flight envelope of speed and height where a failure of the critical engine will not lead to a crash landing.

    cheers

    Manu
