When accelerating on an easterly heading in the Northern Hemisphere, the compass card of a direct reading magnetic compass will turn:

Answer says Clockwise giving an apparent turn toward the north.

But shouldn't it be anticlockwise? or am i missing something...

If you check out page 4.5 of the manual, figure 4.8 should have you back on track. The given answer is correct. Hope that helps?
