Hi there,
I understand your confusion here. What the question/answers are driving at is the difference between a current flight plan and a filed flight plan. The current flight plan relating to the expected approach time last received and acknowledged. I agree that the question does not specify whether this has been given or not and therefore I have amended the question so that it is clearer - also in line with more recent feedback.
Many thanks for a helpful comment,
Matt

The questions asks when you would start your decsent from the designated nav aid in a comms failure.
There are two answers:
One says at the ETA on flight plan (my guess)
The other simply says ETA. (the given answer)
The question simply doesn't talk about whether you had been given EAT or had recalculated. So why is it not the ETA on the flight plan? Surely that's when ATC will be expecting you and willbe protecting the airspace for you?
