    Hi everyone,

    The most basic notion seem to be missing on the Q 811.... series

    If I got it right, a right hand or clockwise rotating propeller is viewed from the pilot seat ( on a single engine).

    ex; ID 811089 on a clockwise propeller

    - pitch down produces right yaw. incorrect
    - Left yaw produces pitch up. correct

    ID 811107 on a propeller turning to the right when viewed from behind, during the climb the gyroscopic effect produces?

    -Yaw the aeroplane to the left correct really??

    ID 811104 clockwise rotating prop produces

    -Left yaw correct

    Some contradiction there..? please, knowledgeable, shed light!

    Your thoughts about gyroscopic precession in Q811089 are correct.
    Q811107 and 811104 are about asymmetric blade effect, not gyroscopic precession. Q811107 is correct, and the explanation is correct, however, Q811104 is only correct if the aircraft is pitched up, which is not stated in the question. If the aircraft is pitched down, a yaw to the right would occur. If this question appears in the exam it would be open to appeal.

      Thank you for the quick answer!

      Seems I was confusing the two.

      -Asymmetric blade effect is permanent in steady nose up attitude.
      The down going blade (from top to bottom) will see it's effective angle of
      attack increase, thus generating more thrust and creating a yawing moment to
      the left. (effect is max at low speed high RPM)

      -Gyroscopic effect produce a 90° precession of the force in the sense of
      rotation. First, identify correctly in which direction is the propeller rotating. The rest shouldn't take too much brain work.
