  • Vne dilemma (Questions 811373, 811559)

    Q811373
On a single engined propeller aeroplane, VNE is:
    A. The normal cruising speed
    B. The speed you must never exceed in a dive. (correct answer)
    C. The speed you should aim to stay below in the cruise.
    D. The speed you must never exceed with flaps down

    Q811559
For an aeroplane certified under CS-23, VNE is the maximum speed…
    A. an aeroplane can be flown at with flaps extended.
    B. which must not be exceeded in a dive. (incorrect answer)
    C. at which the aeroplane may be flown. (correct answer)
    D. at which the aeroplane may be flown in cruise.

I wonder what makes choice B. incorrect? It is particularly confusing as in Q811373, the same answer is correct. I'd say that "speed you must never exceed in a dive" and "maximum speed you must not exceed in a dive" have the same meaning. Considering the English is not my native, could it be that the word "maximum" changes the meaning of the sentence and renders it incorrect or there are 2 correct answers?
    Thanks
