    Why the pressure error (1022-1013=9x30=270ft) is not part of the calculation? see attachments

    Hi,

    It's because you are given a QNH and the question asks you about an indicated altitude.

    The pressure correction would only come into play if you were asked for a flight level, the aircraft altimeter being set to standard 1013.25 hPa setting. Which is apparently not the case here.

        Thanks!, however I find it strange that we have to assume here that we are flying on QNH, while usually at those heights we fly on Standard 1013....
