  • PDP Additional fuel and Final reserve

    Hello again,

In the lesson on Advanced fuel planning, page 16 there is something I don't get : What is the purpose of the mention "This shall not be less than final reserve fuel" ?

In case (1), for a turbine engine 2 hours worth of fuel at cruise speed is obviously more than the 30 min at holding regime.
In case (2), with the description given, additionnal fuel is (at minimum) equivalent to the standard final reserve, so how could it possibly be less than final reserve fuel ?

We are not talking about critical fuel reserve here aren't we ?

Also, can someone confirm that, as I understand, the fuel plan doesn't include an actual final reserve to be added on top of that (it is included within the additional fuel, right ?)

My brain is a bit upside down right now

You are correct; there is no need to add standard final reserve to the additional fuel calculated.
