Flight planning new question

Hello,

can anybody help me understand how to solve this question?
It's one of the new ones in the Flight Planning Exam. Apparently, it came up for everybody.


A VFR flight is planned from departure aerodrome A to destination B with alternate C via a PDP:

AB 530 NM
AB 480 NM in cruise
AC 495 NM

Fuel flow is 35l per hour
TAS 120kts
Tail wind is 15 knots

How much additional fuel is required?


I can't really understand what they're asking for with "ADDITIONAL FUEL". Any help is appreciated.

I believe we met at Gatwick last week, my belief is this the info we had was only enough for the additional fuel and it referred for a reciprocating engine is 45 mins + 15% of enroute distance thus 380/tas x ff followed by x 15% then work out 45mins at tas added together then work out 2 hours of fuel flow compare choose the least and voala... if you get the Turbine version simple ff x2 hours

remember this is based on this question and the amount of info that was in the exam

Thank you so much for your explanation, it really helped.
What really threw me off is the "PDP" in the question. It made me think they're asking for contingency but in fact it's simply an "additional fuel" question. Isn't it?

I worked it out this way:
1) Tas=120Kt + 15Kt TAILWIND ----> GS= 135Kt
2) fuel for 45 min --> 26,3 l
3) fuel covering 15% @crz --> 18,7 l
4) additional fuel --> 26,3l + 18,7l = 45l

Would you say this is correct?
