  • N210215 - Trimming

In the question it asks about changes in the position of the control wheel and column during trimming.

    The answers say:

Aileron (and rudder?) - the zero force position of the controls changes with trimming.

    But

Elevator - the zero force position does not change with trimming.

Is this because elevator trimming is essentially performed on transport a/c by changing the incidence angle of the tail plane leaving the actual elevator still in the neutral position - hence no change in zero force position.

While trimming the ailerons and rudder is performed by applying a deflection to the controls surfaces thus changing the zero force position of the control?
