In the question above you indicate that a class rating should be established for self-sustaining gliders. But then in the explaination refer to TMG.
From my gliding world there are three types of powered glider:
TMG - fixed engine can self launch.
Sefl-launching - retractable engine can self launch
self-sustaining - retractable engine cannot self launch.
I though the class rating used for holders of a pilot licence was for TMG. Self-sustainers are flown under Glding regs no?
