  • Atpl groundschool for an icao licence holder

    Hello,

if you already hold an ICAO Cpl/atpl do you have to do less hours on the ground school,
getting told a lot of differnet information from flight schools

    thanks

Yes. But the amount of ground school (retraining) required is at the discretion of the ATO. If you call the CAA and speak to FCL they'll explain what you need to do.

Depending on your experience level, you may not have to attend any groundschool or go through an ATO. I did just that, filling in form SRG 1192 and submitting copies of my current ATPL and experience level. That allowed me access to the online exam booking system, with no requirement to attend groundschool.
